Franklin travels to Germany!

Franklin believes in starting out his travels with a big start! He recently started with a trip to visit Bev in Texas. They hung out sipping sweet tea and baking cookies! They sure looked yummy!
After that, he visited Bev's friend in Germany! It certainly looks like he's having a great time! The scenery is great and the food looks wonderful!
I think he's deciding to come back to the states for a bit and head to Alaska! How exciting will that be?!

Out and about getting the "bear necessities"

This weekend, Franklin spent some time getting ready for his trip south next week! He will be traveling down to Texas and then over to Louisiana! He's really quite excited to see everyone this summer! Before my little cub heads out to the world, we spent some time shopping and looking around!

Franklin the Traveling bear is getting ready for a busy summer! He would love to travel the world, but this summer he said he'd be happy with seeing all there is to see in the states! He must admit to y'all that he watched National Lampoon's Family Vacation too much this winter while he was hibernating and is excited to see the country! He'd love to see what makes where you live home, to see some of the quirky sites (think of the largest rocker, something along Rt. 66, etc) and wants to end the year going to WallyWorld...er...Disneyworld! Maybe even ring in the New Year in New York! Here's what you'll need to do if you are interested in hosting Franklin on his visits-take as many random photos of him doing anything! What makes your town unique? What's something fun you're doing on vacation this summer? Do you enjoy the farmlife and want to show him around? Keep him for 2 weeks, but he can only stay with you for 2 weeks so that he can travel to as many places as possible this summer (If you have an extended trip please let me know). Take lots of photos of his travels and add captions or stories of what y'all are up to and I'll post it on my blog for all to follow. (http://baileysbruins.blogspot.com/) When Franklin comes to visit, he will come in his suitcase-which would be perfect for pasting stickers from his travels(visiting some interesting parks seems to be his favorite, just watch your picnic baskets!) and a "passport" to put your name (you don't have to put your full name if you don't want to) with the city, state and country you are in. Please message me with your name and address and email and if you are planning any big trips this summer. Please note you will be required to pay for shipping to his next location (usually Priority Mail is no more than $7) so that we can keep him traveling the country! If you are interested please contact me so that his travel planner can let him know where he's going next! :)

Recent custom orders

This winter I've been working on some custom orders for friends! One of my high school classmates recently sent me the mink coat her husband's grandma used to wear. It was a beautiful mink coat with an awesome lining-it even had her initials in it. :) After the holiday festivities settled down I went to work on the wonderful bear! She now resides in Colorado with her new family!
I also visited with the fire chief's wife Lori and we discussed the bears and I showed her some photos of the bears I've made for people. So she brings out some firefighter fabric for a bear to be made for her husband(He's the fire chief on my husband's department) and then finds a pair of her mom's jeans! I soon went to work creating her bears!
I love creating bears that will be special for years to come! :)

Here comes Peter Cottontail...and his friends!

The Bunnies are starting to arrive here for Easter! Stay tuned for more!

here's some of the wonderful creations I've made recently! this big guy was made for a special little boy! this fun gal was created as a gift for one of our friends this Christmas...she is made from a vintage chenille bedspread. I love her so much I think I'll make some more! St Valentine! My first primitive guy...he's now residing outside of New Orleans!

Wow it's been awhile!

so it's been awhile since I've been on here! I didn't realize I had basically skipped a whole year! 2013 has brought a few changes and things are starting to get busy in 2014 already! I kept busy with a few special orders for Christmas for some friends and local people, I've started creating new animals to add to the list for the Bailey's Bruins Zoo! Now for 2014 I started off the year with making a special bear for a long time friend from her grandma in law's mink coat. We are planning the first big craft show in June-the Strawberry Festival in Kimmswick MO! If you are in the area come check it out and stop by our booth! My goal for 2014 is to start blogging more and coming up with new ideas!
